Privacy at Kiddo
A plain-language summary of what Kiddo collects and why. This describes our actual data practices; it is a summary, not a substitute for legal advice.
What we collect
- Your story text and book settings (title, dedication, style, language), so we can build and illustrate your book.
- Account data when you sign in (email, or a Google sign-in). You can start and preview a book anonymously, with no account.
- Payment records when you buy an export credit — handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your full card details.
- Basic, privacy-respecting usage analytics to understand which features work, only when analytics are enabled.
How your story is processed
To build a book, your text is sent to AI providers that generate the words' structure and the illustrations (currently Anthropic for text understanding and an image-generation provider for the artwork). Your story is used to make your book. Generated images are stored so you can preview, re-download, and export them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not ask for or upload photos of your child, and we make no claim that a character “looks like” a real person.
- We do not use your private story text as public training data.
Your choices
- Create and preview anonymously without an account.
- Ask us to delete your books and account data at any time.
- Contact us with any privacy request at support@kiddobooks.app.
Our payment provider (Polar) and infrastructure providers (hosting, database, and storage) process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
